the logo mark is designed around the iconic red circle found in the national flag of Japan. An organic representation of an Olympic athlete carrying the torch can be found inside the shape. The accompanying text is redolent to the brushed traditional Japanese calligraphy.

VISUAL IDENTITY

branding includes three patterns consisting of archetypal symbols of Japanese culture, which can exist both individually and together. One displays imagery of coy and cherry blossom, the other being constructed with waves of the Sea of Japan, as well as one representing ink drops from a calligraphy brush, illustrating history being written with the games.
